A year after Space Station Sibford folded, I was back at the Summer Camp.
And this time, I’d brought my wife and 4 month old daughter!
With the finishing line in sight, I think I might have got a bit complacent this week!
All summer I’ve been linked up with the lovely bloggers at Clarina’s Contemplations to spur each other on to achieve five goals of various ambitions.
And it’s been going rather well – I’ve just one goal to complete.
It’s going to be touch and go though!
Massive apologies for the lateness of this update! I’ve been leading on a Christian Ventures camp with an awesome bunch of 11-14 year olds and some cracking fellow leaders. Was certainly interesting having a five month old there too!
In the midst of all that though, some excellent progress with the goals (including two more ticked off!) so I’m feeling very content with that!
After a month of hard slog on these five goals (yeah right) I’m shocked to realise that almost half of my time has gone already! Better get a move on.
It’s been great to link up with all the other bloggers doing this challenge and now, after finally finishing up at school, I may be able to give a bit more time to them.
In saying that, leading a group of 11-14 year olds on a CYFA camp with church in a week’s time is going to be the new all-consuming project. Bring it on!
Anyway, here’s the update…
Into Week 3, the challenge is well and truly under way and I’m beginning to enjoy it now.
Although trying to fit the goals in, at the end of term, whilst dealing with a hot-and-bothered four month old baby girl, has been the real challenge!
There has been a momentous event this week though.
Having returned from the Isle of Man (tired and queasy!), I felt the crushing responsibility of my five goals for summer.
I say crushing, it’s more I want to uphold my end of the bargain with all these lovely bloggers who keep encouraging me! I need to deliver.
And so, amidst back to school madness, car MOT and service finance commitments and screaming late night trips to Tesco (actually that was just Jess), I’ve been trying to hit these goals!
This is my Week 2 update.
It’s summer…the sun is shining…perfect time to set some goals!
Thanks to a friend of mine, I’ve decided to get involved with #GetGoodSummer – a project to accomplish five targets over the next ten weeks.
Alongside other bloggers and interesting people, the idea is to strive to achieve the aims in between the last Thursday of June and the first Thursday of September, keeping you lot in the loop in the process.
We try to egg each on, give some comments (usually in support), shamelessly copy each other and aim to inspire each other to complete our aims.
So, after thinking it through, here’s my five goals for #GetGoodSummer. Wish me luck!
