Let me start 2015 by wishing everybody a very Happy New Year!
Thanks for reading these musings over the last seven months. I’ve loved being able to share some of Sophie’s firsts with you.
I’m not a massive resolutions fan – seen enough failures over the years to pretty much write them off.
This post explores a few of my hopes and dreams for the coming year.
1. Spend more time with God
Amidst the busyness of home and school life, I’ve found it increasingly difficult to do this regularly. It’s not a holier-than-thou aim; it’s just something I need to get a better handle of and have the passion for. All hints welcome!
2. Be a supportive husband as we adapt to a new pattern
With my wife heading back to work in the next few months, so begins the routine of childcare. This may involve the shock of getting up earlier (!), being in charge of her after school instead of marking and helping plan nutritious meals. Even planning our food again – rather than my lovely wife ensuring everything’s in. Post maternity leave life…sounds exciting!
3. Use time more wisely
Time can be such a big burden – it never stops pressing on! With lots to sort and things to do across all areas of my life, I want to get work and jobs done productively and effectively so I can spend more time with my family, church and friends. I love to invest in people and it would be great if this was possible.
These are my dreams but who knows how it will turn out. Gods love and mercies are new every morning, not just on a new year and we trust him for his faithful goodness to us.
